Queen Creek is set to experience a major transformation with the groundbreaking of The Switchyard, a $120 million mixed-use development that officially began construction on May 7, 2025. The project, led by Creation in partnership with Horizon Real Estate Ltd., is designed to become Queen Creek’s first walkable, design-forward downtown destination—blending restaurants, retail, office space, and residential living.
Located at the northeast corner of Ellsworth and Ocotillo Roads, The Switchyard will span 10 acres and feature 54,000 square feet of commercial space. Plans also include a 215-unit luxury apartment community, expected to begin construction later this year.
Several high-profile tenants are already confirmed:
Postino: A popular wine café known for small plates and an inviting atmosphere.
The Porch: A retro-inspired pub with games, creative food, and a massive patio.
Snooze, an A.M. Eatery: A vibrant breakfast and brunch restaurant with a cult following.
Shake Shack: The beloved burger chain famous for its ShackBurgers and crinkle-cut fries.
The groundbreaking ceremony included a $25,000 donation to Ryan House, a nonprofit that supports families with children facing life-limiting conditions. Queen Creek officials and community members see The Switchyard as a cornerstone in the town’s evolution, promising to attract more business and lifestyle options to the area.
Construction will roll out in phases, with the first phase expected to be complete by mid-2026. More tenant announcements are expected soon as Queen Creek continues to grow into a vibrant and modern community hub.
